Nathan Coley

Typical work: installations made from a variety of media.

Nominated for: exhibition at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute, public installation Camouflage Church, Santiago de Compostela, Spain and contributing to group exhibition Breaking Step - Displacement, Compassion and humour in Recent British Art at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade, Serbia.
Mike Nelson

Typical work: Nelson uses entrances, exits and doorways to create "metaphoric connotations", for example sand reflected through kaleidoscope-style mirrors creating an infinite world viewed through a hole in the wall.

Mark Wallinger

Born: 1959, Chigwell
Educated: Chelsea School of Art and Goldsmiths
Lives: London

Typical work: Wallinger deals with expansive themes through various mediums, for example the nature of perception is explored through a live performance in which the artist dresses in a bear suit and occupies a museum in Berlin for ten nights.
