The musings of Vincent Van Gogh
Updated on 07 October 2009
Van Gogh's personal letters have gone on display for the first time revealing a disciplined and rational side to the tormented artist's inner thoughts.

Methodical, disciplined and rational. That's the verdict of a new publication on Van Gogh, the artist who is more popularly known as a tormented genius who chopped off an ear.
The book draws on hundreds of the artist's letters and its publication coincides with a new exhibition at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.
A fully annotated and illustrated version of the publication can be viewed for free online from 8 Oct. Visit www.vangoghletters.org for more information.
