A sculpture on display in one of the country's leading performance art venues is removed after it turned out to be the work of child sex murderer Colin Pitchfork.

London's Royal Festival Hall apologised and said it regretted any offence caused.

It bought the anonymous piece after a display of prisoner art organised by the Koestler Trust charity last year.

It has now emerged that the piece was created by Colin Pitchfork, jailed for life 20 years ago for the rape and murder of two schoolgirls.
