Olympic contest of a different kind

Nicholas Glass takes a look at the "Cultural Olympiad", the artworks chosen to represent the different parts of the UK at the 2012 London Olympics.

Thirty foot hand-crocheted lions and a giant human puppet of Lady Godiva are just two of the artworks being specially commissioned for the 2012 Olympics in London.
The Arts Councils of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have chosen 12 works to use in the run-up to the Games, after considering more than 2,000 entries in what has been described as "the most ambitious and wide-ranging art prize in the UK".
All of the winning entries are inspired by different regions of the UK.
