Macavity gets a makeover

Axel Scheffler, the illustrator behind the Gruffalo, is set to re-draw TS Eliot's Practical Cats, reports Harry Anscombe.
TS Elliott called them 'dignified and comical'. Now Axel Scheffler, the artist behind the well-loved childrens' character The Gruffalo, is set to re-draw all of the creatures featured in "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats".
The book of poems was an international bestseller published 70 years ago and has never been out of print.
It also formed the basis of Andrew LLoyd Webber's hit west-end musical Cats.
