It has a cast of 30 performing robots and a machine that writes like Salvador Dali.

England's first museum devoted entirely to kinetic, electronic and experimental art opened today in East London.

'Kinetica' aims to provide an alternative to traditional art forms like painting and sculpture, and it showcases work from the 1920s up to the present day.

Our Arts Correspondent Nicholas Glass went along for a preview.
