30 Seconds to Mars lead Kerrangs

30 Seconds to Mars and Bullet for My Valentine are leading the nominations at this year's Kerrang! Awards.

Jared Leto's band earned four nominations for Best Single, Best International Band, Best Video and Best Live Band.

Bullet For My Valentine are also in the running for four awards in the categories of Best Single, Best Video, Best Album and Best British Band.

Fellow metal act Avenged Sevenfold picked up three nominations and are up for Best International Band, Best Live Band and Best Album.

Aussie crossover group Pendulum are nominated for Best Single for Propane Nightmares, but they face competition from Simple Plan's Your Love Is A Lie and Give Me What I Want from Kids In Glass Houses.

The nominations are determined by voting online and in the magazine. The awards will be announced in London on August 21.
