Updated on 02 July 2009
Stay inside and call your GP: the latest advice on what to do if you are worried about swine flu symptoms.
- If you think you have swine flu-like symptoms stay at home and use the NHS swine flu checker which will give you medical advice.
- If you are still concerned stay at home and call your GP.
If the GP confirms swine flu by telephone, they will give you a voucher reference entitling you to anti-viral medication.
- Give this number to a healthy friend or relative and ask them to pick up the antivirals for you from a designated local collection centre.
- It is particularly important that 'high-risk groups' - people with long-term conditions, those over 65, children under five and pregnant women - start taking antivirals as soon as possible.
