New music releases

22/10/2007

Those pesky Sugababes are just being selfish now, hogging the top spot in the charts for a fourth week. But will one of the following be able to push them off their pedestal?

Leona Lewis 'Bleeding Love' (Sony BMG)
Well this isn't what you were expecting, is it? It certainly wasn't what we were expecting. But there had to be a reason why they waited so long after the traditional post-'X Factor' sappy ballad. And they're doing it with the kind of beat-spitting, vocal prowess-displaying, naggingly-addictive record Whitney Houston would've once sat on the US number one spot with and refused to get off. We also notice it's a song with no bass on it, just like Prince's 'When Doves Cry'. Basically, we haven't got a bad word to say about it.
