Out This Week

21/05/2007

Rihanna has 'stormed' the charts with her 'Umbrella' this week and is 'reigning' at the top (sorry), but what else have the summer showers washed in this week...

Soulcast ft Indian Princess 'Someone Like Me' (HIT! Records Universal)
Italian dance supremos Soulcast have recruited Indian Princess for this her first ever house record; and there really isn’t much to say about it. The track follows the general formula: a relentless driving beat you can jump up and down and go 'Woo!' to, synths aplenty and a nice lady wailing about how no one will fall in love with "someone like me" over the top of it. It's like being back in the nineties. Cute, if you like this kind of thing and the sporadic injection of funky guitars may raise an eyebrow of interest. It's hard to believe Indian princess finds it tricky to find a suitor though; she's a perfectly symmetrical, slinky beaut. But that's showbiz.
