Out This Week
21/05/2007
Rihanna has 'stormed' the charts with her 'Umbrella' this week and is 'reigning' at the top (sorry), but what else have the summer showers washed in this week...
Rihanna 'Umbrella' (Universal)
The queen of the charts at the moment is of course Rihanna, so it's fair to say that quite a lot of us rather like this great big pop triumph of a single. (Is it any wonder that it speaks to the British public at the moment?) Rihanna, who shot to number one through downloads alone this week, also recruited the mighty Jay-Z to do a cheeky rap to open the track, in case those of you unfamiliar with the singer just thought she had a very low voice. This is an irresistible slice of sexy super-pop, and, even better, she apparently has no problem sharing her 'Um-ber-ella' with you, which is nice.

Kaiser Chiefs 'Everything Is Average Nowadays'
Everyone's favourite Leeds stompers have gone all 'bouncey'.
Chris Cornell 'Arms Around Your Love'
Can U2's producer make the former Soundgarden man sound up to date?
Pigeon Detectives 'I'm Not Sorry'
The northern art-rockers are having a spot of bother with the ex.
Ben's Brother 'Rise'
This London lot have good hearts and even nicer sleeves.
Soulcast ft Indian Princess 'Someone Like Me'
Princesses are finding it ever so hard to find suitable suitors these days...
Infernal 'I Won't Be Crying'
They might not be crying, but we are.
Good Charlotte 'The River'
Come on chaps, try lightening up for a change...
Arcade Fire 'Intervention'
Can the Grammy-nominated Canadians crack the Top 40 this time?
The Twang 'Either Way'
The Brummie baggy boys come good by going all soppy.
