Summer 2002 and four musicians from the UK music scene meet up. Over pints they discuss mutual influences in music and hatch a plot to form an industrial strength psychedelic punk band without compromise. The rest as they say is history, as they immediately set about rehearsing, writing and recording material, hence Skrewworm was born. With a mixture of energy drums, real lyrical poetry, wailing and floating guitars and snarling bass the band then started gigging in 2003. They soon began to forge their own sound with the tribal rhythm section complemented by contrasting dual guitars. During the period of 2003-2004 the band played lots of interesting gigs and also recorded their debut album Lies. In 2005 the band decided to add another member and recruited Lois Stickey around April time. Two weeks later Lois made her debut with the band playing in the Pulse Fringe Festival and the new look Skrewworm was born. Now with Lois as front person, and complete with shocking pink hair the band became an act with a lot of attitude. They played some storming gigs in 2005 and began writing and recording new songs with Lois. 2006 sees the band playing lots of different gigs and a sixth member was also added in the shape of second female vocalist Babs Wire.
