Jammeth and Mark, as Spooky Mushroom, after some twiddling on the playstation,created thier first tune together in January 2004. It was a mess of easily recognised samples and basic stuctures named, "Robocop VS Cyberninja".
To listen to it is to want to burn the disc, and then your ears. But they were proud of thier little noise and frantically showed it off like a guy with a boat. After that, they were hooked, rainbow trout-like. Inspired by uncountable musical directions, the first of the Mushroom's music was "difficult" and far too busy. Too many beats fought for attention, too many basslines cluttered up the botom end. Most of the tunes from this early era have been completely disowned, but a few have been remixed or stripped for parts (Flashing Steel, Bassfiend). At some unclear point, Ross Stafford and Jamie-Bro both decided to merge with the 'shroom, Ross for scratching and extra fx, Jamie for guitar duties and extra production. One journey up a steep learning curve later, this group are finally creating noises that make them smile and have decided to start sharing them with an uncaring world.
