Artist Biography
Like an indie-rock pick-n-mix, Cloud Atlas create colourful soundscapes ranging from the sublime to the downright frenetic, brimming with anthemic choruses and infectious pop hooks. Industry professionals have compared the band to The Talking Heads and early XTC. Other influences include Muse, The Duke Spirit, Deus, Blondie and Weezer.

Bounding onto the Welsh music scene with just a little more energy than is healthy, the band began gigging in Cardiff and surrounding towns last summer. The band soon attracted a following locally, and the attention of BBC Radio Wales' Adam Walton, who playlisted their track 'Even Astronauts' early in 2007. The band have also received attention from the local student media, as well as Xfm and numerous local stations and podcasts.

In February 2007, the band accepted an invite to play at the JD set Unsigned. From a selection of just twelve bands whittled down from thousands of entrants, Cloud Atlas were personally chosen by Rob da Bank of Radio 1 to play at a secret location in London, to much acclaim from media and industry professionals. The gig, together with a band interview, is due to be televised shortly on Channel 4, as part of the 'JD Set presents&' series.

Cloud Atlas are currently in the process of booking a string of gigs in and around Cardiff, and a tour of London and other UK venues, to be confirmed in the near future. Further radio appearances are also in the pipeline, and an EP is to be recorded at Nottingham's prestigious Crash Factory studios in June.
