I am a Brighton based artist who enjoys the city's nightlife, the smell of the sea, the sound of the gulls. As well as the all-year-round on-holiday atmosphere of the place that gives me the space and time to create. A mixture of instrumental electronica styles ranging from Hip Hop to Drum and Bass to Ambient Dub to Trip Hop. taking inspiration from decades of music. While working tirelessly around the beautiful Sussex countryside - I also make my own music, build websites, mix Drum and Bass and play video games. I have also co-produced and engineered AlphaState's debut album "Between Dreaming and Waking" at my home studio.
I essentially make music I that I would to listen to, I have a large music collection and a very broad taste which helps with the production of a variety of styles. My music is a mixture of electronica genres ranging from Hip Hop to Drum and Bass to Ambient Dub to Trip Hop and more. I am influenced by; the music of video games (especially the excellent music of DAVE WHITTAKER and ROB HUBBARD, whose tracks turned up in many games and on many formats during my childhood), 70's Dub Reggae (KING TUBBY, LEE SCRATCH PERRY, KEITH HUDSON) as well as the likes of DAVID BOWIE, DAVID BYRNE, DJ SHADOW, HERBALISER, DJ KRUSH, COLDCUT, BRIAN ENO, FUNKI PORCINI, RAY KEITH, DILLINGA, APHRODITE, DJ DIE, DJ FOOD, THE ORB, ORBITAL, TRICKY, MASSIVE ATTACK, THE SCIENTIST, MAD PROFESSOR, PORTISHEAD, BJORK, NIGHTMARES ON WAX, RONI SIZE, PESHAY, LEFTFIELD, CHEMICAL BROTHERS, bands like THE CURE, TALKING HEADS, THE SMITHS and JOY DIVISION, contemporary composers like MICHAEL NYMAN, DANNY ELFMAN and ANGELO BADALMENTI, as well as a selection of eighties electronic pop including THE PET SHOP BOYS and NEW ORDER. |
