Robbie may leave EMI

18/12/2007

Robbie Williams may leave EMI, the label which signed him for £80m, according to his manager.

The singer, whose ex Take That bandmates yesterday said there is no place for him in the band, and his manager Tim Clark are cautious about re-signing to the label giant who, along with other big record companies, are "throttling brilliant opportunities".

Robbie, who signed the record £80m deal in 2002, is contracted to release one more studio album - 'Let's Swing Again' (out in February) - and a greatest hits package.

"I would be very wary about signing him to any major label at the moment," said Tim Clark to the Daily Telegraph.

"What we really don't want is the dead hand of multinationals throttling these brilliant opportunities."
