Rihanna feels sad for Amy and Britney

Rihanna has revealed that she thrives under pressure and feels sad about the state of fellow pop stars Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears.

The 19-year-old, who is dating actor Josh Hartnett, also told The Sun that she is overwhelmed by the success she's had this year but constantly strives for more.

"It's hard to take in how much success I have had this year, especially with 'Umbrella', as I'm travelling so much and am away from the reality of it all," she said.

"It was always this way from the beginning. I was thrown in at this pace and I never stopped. I refuse to crack under pressure, in fact I thrive on it. So when I read about Britney and Amy Winehouse who have suffered under it, it's sad.

"It is easy to criticise them but it happens. You just have to stay focused and keep your feet on the ground."
