Led Zeppelin hint at new material

18/10/2007

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has hinted that there could be new material on its way from the band following their reunion gig next month.

The band, who attracted one million registrations for their one-off show at London's O2 Arena in support of a foundation set up to commemorate their old label boss Ahmet Ertegun, haven't released any new songs since their 'In Through The Out Door' album in 1979.

The British rockers split in 1980 after drummer John Bonham choked to death on his own vomit.

Speaking about the possibility of new material, Page said:

"Look, I'd be really surprised if there wasn't - I just know the way we are. We're musicians. As we're playing we'll probably be coming up with all manner of things. And that will be fun. I mean that's what it's all about."

In their 12-year career, the band had seven UK number one albums and never release a single.

It was announced earlier this week that Led Zeppelin would be making their music available digitally for the first time.
