Kanye West's mum dies

Kanye West flew back home last night after hearing that his beloved mum Donda had died.

The 30-year-old rapper, who was raised single-handedly by 58-year-old Donda since his father left when Kanye was three, was in London when he heard that his mother, an ex-college professor who had previously managed her son, had died in Los Angeles.

The cause of the death has not yet been made public but it has been suggested that it could've been due to complications during a surgical procedure.

Donda West, who ran Kanye's non-profit educational foundation and wrote 'Raising Kanye: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar', had been instrumental to her son's success and had been praised in many of his songs including 'Hey Mama'.
