Britney to star in The Simpsons

Britney Spears is the latest star to be written into The Simpsons, it has been revealed today.

The 'Blackout' singer's character will take the mickey out of her first video 'Baby One More Time' but stars of the show have been quick to state that they won't be mercilessly mocking Britney's personal life.

"Britney is ripe for the picking. But we have to do it well - I don't want to be cruel," said Yeardley Smith, who provides the voice for Lisa Simpson.

In other news, it has been revealed that Britney will be allowed to spend Thanksgiving with her two young sons.
