Kanye West: My album is clearly the best
12/09/2007
Kanye West and 50 Cent have appeared alongside each other on an American TV show to reveal the reasons behind their head-to-head album battle.
Kanye, whose third album, 'Graduation', is currently outselling Fiddy's new record, 'Curtis', told presenters on '106 & Park: Bet's Top 10 Live' that his album artwork was delayed necessitating the change of release date but said he was unfazed by being out on the same day as Fiddy.
"To be honest I didn't think it was a good idea at first. But it's not actual beef, it's just being competitive as far as hip hop is concerned," said Kanye.
"My album is the pinnacle of what music is at that time. It's clearly the best album you can buy. People understand I brand quality music."
Meanwhile, Fiddy, who has threatened to quit music if he loses the album battle, compared his achievements with those of Mohammad Ali and said the public's good will towards him was waning because he's accomplished so much so soon.
