James Blunt wants a good hiding
11/09/2007
James Blunt said he doesn't mind being verbally taunted so long as he can carry on with being a popstar.
The singer, whose new single '1973' is at number four in the charts, told GQ magazine that he doesn't mind a bit of resentment because his compensation is having "the best job in the world", and as an ex-public schoolboy can handle the jibes.
"I probably deserve a bit of a kicking. And having been to boarding school I've learnt to enjoy a good beating," said James.
"I don't take the comments seriously. I've the best job in the world. I've spent the past two-and-a-half years touring with a band and it's been brilliant. Touring is the best invention of all time, so if I have to suffer a little bit of payback for having all this fun, then so be it."
