Britney explains herself

Britney Spears has defended her partying since splitting with 'rapper' Kevin Federline.

The singer, who was named this week as the the most searched person on Yahoo!, explained her recent behaviour by saying she hadn't been out properly for two years and that she was just celebrating her birthday.

"It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends," said Britney. "It's also been two years since I celebrated my birthday."

"I probably did take my new found freedom too far," she added, presumably referring to her recent knickerless outings.

"Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expect!"
