Lowestoft is the UK's most easterly town and was once a thriving fishing port and holiday resort. Over the years, the industry and jobs have dried up along with many of the young people's aspirations. Kirkley Community High school takes pupils from a cross section of the community around the south of Lowestoft, many from areas of significant deprivation.
