Ahoy there

A Brief History of Get Cape Wear Cape Fly

That's not his real name of course; the man behind the music is actually called Sam Duckworth, or Slam Dunkworth to his mates. Sam apparently got the name from a ZX Spectrum magazine (it was a computer in the eighties by the way) which featured a solution for the Batman video game that said 'Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.'

Critics love a bit of GCWCF, his blend of emo rock and indie music on debut album 'The Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager' was so popular it made the top 100 albums of 2006 for both the NME and Q magazines! He was even nominated for best solo artist at the NME Awards with Lily Allen, Jamie T, Jarvis Cocker and some unknown bloke called Thom Yorke... although he didn't win.

This year saw him release his second album 'Searching for the Hows and Whys', which features his mates Kate Nash and Billy Bragg although more attention has been focused on his planned covers album; it's going to be produced by the man behind Macedonia's Eurovision song contest entries. Hmmm.
