Participation Rules for Road To V: Only one entry per artist/group. You (which means you individually and any member of your group) must be 16 years old or over and resident in the UK (incl NI). The Promoter intends, but does not undertake to produce for Channel 4 the show provisionally entitled "Road to V" (the "Programme"). Enter by submitting your performance (the "Performance") with a completed registration form available from Promoter or on www.RoadtoV.com. Entries must be submitted by 5th April 2007. By entering, you will be deemed to accept these participation rules.

The Promoter may disqualify you if any information you provide is false or misleading or omits information that should be disclosed, or if your Performance is not original, created solely by you, is not genuine or has been fabricated in any way, or you fail to abide by these rules. You must have permission to submit your Performance, you must be unsigned (which means you must not have signed a contract with a record label or any third party that might interfere with your participation in Road To V) and you must remain unsigned until after VFestival 2007, you must have no convictions and you waive any moral rights in your Performance for the purposes of Road To V.

In consideration of the Promoter including the Performance on the Road to V website and permitting you to enter into the competition, you grant the Promoter for the purposes of the competition only a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, sub-licensable right and license to: (a) use, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, perform, play and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to your Performance worldwide and/or to incorporate your contribution in other works in any media for the full term of any rights that may exist in your Performance; (b) use any trademarks, service marks or trade names incorporated in the Performance; and (c) use the name and likeness of any individuals represented in the Performance. The Promoter undertakes to use the Performance and information provided for the purposes of the Road To V competition only.

Your Performance must not contain any material that is not your own (eg any samples), anything fraudulent, libellous, defamatory and it must not infringe any third party's rights and you hereby indemnify the Promoter against any claims which may arise if your Performance does so. You acknowledge that these rules may be altered at any time by the Promoter and that you may be required to sign releases or similar legal documentation in order to participate in Road To V and that you will be bound by such rules/legal documentation if you wish to continue to participate.

All entries will be evaluated to determine the 14 finalists who will proceed to the live performances (and feature in the Programme). The finalists will be notified by 16th April 2007 and will be required to perform live performances in either Liverpool on 9/10th May 2007 or London on 15/16/17th May 2007 in front of a live audience and be filmed for inclusion in the Programme. Two artists will be selected from the live performances to perform at the VFestival 2007. The finalists and ultimate winners will be determined on the basis of originality, stage presence, performance and musical talent. Their details will be on www.RoadtoV.com. Promoters' decision is final at all stages and no correspondence will be entered into. Entries (including Performances) cannot be returned.

Prizes: 14 finalists: Perform live at a gig arranged by the Promoter in either Liverpool on 9/10th May 2007 or London on 15/16/17th May 2007 and Promoter will seek to arrange for all finalists to appear in the Programme. 2 Winners: Promoter will seek to arrange for the 2 winners to appear at the VFestival 2007.

Promoter is Virgin Mobile Telecoms Ltd, The Communications Building, 48 Leicester Square, London, WC2H 7LT. The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend Road To V in whole or in part for any reason without liability to you. Employees of the Promoter and its affiliated companies are not eligible to participate in Road To V.
