The Police to headline The Isle Of Wight 2008

4Music is pleased to announce that The Police will continue their comeback tour by playing the legendary Isle Of Wight Festival in June next year.
Festival Promoter John Giddings confirmed The Police will headline the Sunday night and bring 2008's Festival to a close, "It's a coup to get The Police for the Festival, we're very happy to have the biggest tour of the last two years stopping by the Isle of Wight."
In 1977, The Police stormed the music scene blending reggae, punk, jazz and rock. Sting, drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers have sold over 50 million albums worldwide, won six Grammys and still sell-out stadiums 30 years on.
Fifty thousand music fans at Isle Of Wight will witness the band's only UK festival appearance of the summer.
