Magnetic personality
Talking to people about stuff

There used to be a band called Magnet who did the soundtrack to 'The Wicker Man', but this isn't that Magnet, this isn't anything to do with Magnet kitchens either. Oh no.

This is Even Johansen of Bergen, Norway, a sensitive singer-songwriter chap who's been compared to everyone from Johnny Cash to Air (no, we don't know how that works either) and is really rather marvelous.

Anyway, we thought we thought we'd pick his brains about stuff so we dropped him a line and this is what he had to say about the major issues of the day, from rubbish records to intimidating horses and TV aliens.

But before all that, all this.

Alright?
Alright.

What is your favourite smell?
The smell of luck.

Oooh, good one. What's the best thing you've ever found in a hedge?
A hedgehog!

Fantastic. Now, have you ever been intimidated by a horse?
Many times. In fact, I was scared silly by the horse that lives on the farm next to mine just three days ago.

OK, when did you last wish you were the opposite sex?
The last time I was trying to do two things at the same time. We're not multi-taskers we men....

True. What are you ashamed of then?
Absolutely nothing.

So, what’s the worst record you’ve ever made?
The worst record I made was with a band I was in as a kid called Unge Frustrerte Menn. The record was called Slanger & Snegler (don't ask...).

Deal. What do you think people say about you behind your back?
Spineless fella, don't you think?

Cruel. Which body part could you happily live without?
My ego.

Good luck. What’s in your pockets?
Keys, 12 quid & my cigarettes.

What’s the rudest thing you’ve ever done?
I was so influenced by Jamaican music I tried to be a rude boy as a kid. That’s by far the most rude thing I have ever done

Not strictly what we meant, but OK. Now, what’s the most revolting thing you’ve ever put in your mouth?
Once I ate a raw onion to be cool. It wasn't cool, it was revolting.

Grooo. Finally, do aliens exist?
Of course they exist! I’ve seen them on the telly!

Fair point. Thanks Mr Magnet man.
No Slashmusic, thank you!
