A Brief History of The Kooks
In 2003 Luke Pritchard, Hugh Harris and Paul Garred met at the prestigious Brit School for Performing Arts, in Croydon, before attending the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, where they encountered bassist Max Rafferty and formed The Kooks.
Signing to Virgin records, their first few singles only just dented the Top 40. But it was the song 'Naïve' (written when Luke was just 16) that shot the band to stardom and earned their debut album 'Inside In/Inside Out' triple platinum status.
Following sell out tours and a host of award nominations, The Kooks returned in 2008 with their second album 'Konk', and a new bassist in the shape of Dan Logan. The record was recorded at a studio owned by legendary Kinks songwriter Ray Davies and took the group to the top of the UK charts.
