Chico on the fame game:
"My whole point for wanting the fame game was about fame, money, sex... But now I've got a different purpose in life which is a musical, spiritual thing."
Chico on the children of the world:
"It's my ultimate goal to have a voice to bring awareness to all the children of the world. From the tsunami kids to the AIDS children in Africa, the Afghanistan and Iraq kids and the refugees. We've just started a charity called Rainbow Child Foundation, which has always been my dream. You've got to dream it, believe it and you will achieve it.
Chico on being an all round entertainer:
"I think, this year, we made the 'X Factor' cool. We raised the bar. Everyone had something to offer. Brenda was a fantastic singer, Maria had her great looks, Andy, Shayne... I came under the banner of 'all round entertainer'. We were all so diverse, yet so different. We brought something for everything. And I believe that a lot of people who would have been 'Oh, I'm too cool for the 'X Factor!'' will look at it now and go 'Hey man, it's alright to go on the 'X Factor''. And I would recommend it to anyone. Look at me [makes noise like a toy trumpet for longer than strictly necessary]!"
Chico on being a one hit wonder:
"I deal with things a day at a time. Tomorrow's a mystery, yesterday's history, today is a gift from God - that's why we call it the present. So I'm living for the present. I'm quite happy to be a one hit wonder. I was gonna be a no hit wonder, so let's just start with one! If the public are liking what Chico is doing then, fantastic, I'll get an album out. If not then I'll probably think about doing something else. Right now I'm here and I'm doing it, I'm loving it, and I'm giving it to you. Enjoy!"
Chico on waggling it in ladies' faces:
"From stripping I learned that if you can shake your ding-a-ling you can go out and do anything. It taught me a lot about life, about people, about how women think and behave. You become a psychologist, in a way. I learned that women are the most beautiful creatures and the better sex. Even when they're screaming and ripping the clothes off your back, they're superior to men. But my sex days are behind me. Children are my audience now."
Chico on the path to enlightenment:
"If you don't want disappointment in life then it is important to get in touch with God. Have faith in the divine nectar, instead of just reading about it in books. My own spiritual guide is Mawlana Shaykh Nazim who is a Sufi saint. I grew up as a Muslim but I found Sufism which is the mystical part of Islam. It's a beautiful thing. Sufism is a doctrine that transcends the normal dogmas of religion. You're delving into yourself and fighting with the enemy that is within - that is the ego. It's the path to enlightenment and I want to grow up to be an enlightened human being."
But before that happens, Chico tells us a joke about a lobster:
It's funny because it's true.
