VERA NKWATE NGASSA: "I am a magistrate and lecturer. I teach women and gender law at the University of Buea.

"In the film, I was the State Prosecutor but I am currently the Chief Judge of the High Court.

In Cameroon, we have a unique legal system where we are trained as both judge and prosecutor and we exercise those functions alternately.

I am also a member of the Commonwealth Association of Judges and Magistrates as well as FIDA (the Spanish acronym for ‘International Federation of Women Lawyers’).

I hate injustice and consider myself a voice for the voiceless.

I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer but it was when I was 16 after studying ‘To Kill a Mocking Bird’ and being inspired by Atticus Finch that I made up my mind for definite.
