Waldemar Januszczak

Waldemar Januszczak

Writer, broadcaster and Sunday Times art correspondent.

Waldemar studied History of Art at Manchester University after which he became the art critic then arts editor of The Guardian. In 1990 he was appointed Head of Arts at Channel 4 and in 1992 he became Art Critic for The Sunday Times. In 1997 he and Mike Lerner set up ZCZ Films.

He has been voted Critic of the Year twice by the Press Association.

His most recent film, The Happy Dictator (More4 Wed 18 April) is about Turkmenistan.
