Martin Sheen

Martin Sheen

Martin Sheen was born August 3, 1940 as Ramón Gerard Antonio Estévez in Dayton, Ohio. He has 10 siblings.

Sheen's major role was on Broadway in The Subject Was Roses. His Emmy-nominated performance as the title role in Execution of Private Eddie Slovik earned him the lead role in Apocalypse Now. During filming, he was drinking heavily and subsequently suffered a heart attack and managed to crawl out to a road for help.

Sheen married art student Janet Templeton in 1961, and they have four children: Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estévez, Ramón Estévez Jr, Renée Estévez - all actors.

Sheen plays President Josiah Bartlet on The West Wing, screening on More4.
