On Sunday, the Mexican public goes to the polls as over 76 million voters decide whether to oust President Vicente Fox's National Action Party, in favour of Leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, whose running on a fighting poverty ticket.
The campaign has been marked by bitterly-traded political insults and accompanied by a rise in drug violence.
In particular, Oaxaca, a southern city, has been witness to violent clashes between police and union members in the run up to the elections.
