Lawrie Pycroft & Nick Atwood

When Laurie met Nick

Tue 9 May 2006

Supporters of animal testing are rallying round GSK.

Pro-test, the group formed recently to support animal research, has asked all its members to buy one share each.

It's another step in the group's campaign to take on the animal rights lobby.

Well, last week, More4 News arranged a rare face-to-face encounter between the group's founder and one of the animal rights movement's leading lights.

Sixteen-year old Laurie Pycroft flew to Florida to meet Nick Atwood, whose website champions the use of direct action against those connected with animal testing, to discuss the ethics of protest - and to ask whether he could himself be a target.

Andrew Thomas went with him.
