Not quite the Oscars, but tonight the annual awards will be handed out for the best viral marketing campaign.
You know those funny emails you get to 'brighten' or 'disrupt' your workday?
Well, they're called 'virals' and today saw their first ever Oscars in a competition supported by Channel 4.
Although some of the winners were created by eccentric individuals, recent examples have shown the growing reach of the corporate sector into the viral ad world.
That has attracted the attention of the Advertising Standards Authority which has JUST decided to bring viral ads under their sphere of regulation. Andrew Thomas reports.
