Donate your body

The number of people in England and Wales leaving their whole bodies for medical science has fallen from 670 to 600 over the last five years.

The combination of reduced donations and increased numbers of students has resulted in a serious shortage of bodies for the education and training of medical and dental students, and for medical research.

How to donate
Medical research and the training of doctors and dentists benefits each year from the generosity of those who offer their bodies after their death for medical education, training and research.

Those of you who wish to offer their bodies should make arrangements for this before they die, and can find out more info by visiting the Dept of Health website at www.dh.gov.uk/ (Search on 'body donation' to retrieve details).
