The True Voice of Murder

Tues 18 April 2006 9pm-10pm; rpt Sat 22 April 9.10pm
A series of hard-hitting monologues performed by actors using the words of real people.

My Daughter is a tragic tale of suburban life. Lesley Sharp tells a mother's heart-breaking story of how her 18-year old daughter died after being stabbed by her violent boyfriend.

Nina, played by Anne Reid, murdered her husband when she discovered his infidelity after 38 years of marriage. She is now in prison serving a life sentence, estranged from her children, having never broken the law before in her life.

Honour is performed by Mozaffar Shafeie who plays an Iranian who came to the UK in search of a better life for his family. He tells us of the tragic death of his son, who was murdered in an 'honour' killing after falling in love with a young woman.
