Why the Arabs Hate the West
Wed 11 Jan 2006 9pm
An investigation of the reasons why many people in the Middle East hate and distrust the West.
Khaled Hroub, Al-Jazeera presenter and head of the Arab Media Project at Cambridge University, travels to Egypt to find out what Arabs REALLY think about the West.
About the film
The film explores the vastly different analysis that Western and Middle Eastern media give of the same events, and examines the assumptions by many in the Arab world of the decadence of Western life. It challenges many of our beliefs about our foreign policy and its impact on the people in the Middle East.
