Sex Change Hospital - ep 4

Lisa and Jackie used to be called Brian and John. Both believe they were born the wrong gender and they have come to Trinidad, Colorado, the sex change capital of the world, to become their true selves.

In the hospital there, more than 5,000 people have had sex change operations since 1969.

Lisa Scott (pictured), 45, a chemist from Minneapolis, was born Brian. She says: "When I was young I though Mom was able to choose which baby the stork would bring. Since my sister beat me to being the girl I had to be the boy." A year ago Brian changed her name and began living as Lisa.

Jackie Feakins, 53, was born John and as a man raised three sons and had a long career as an air traffic controller. She says: "When I was a little boy I would use my watercolour paints as make-up. I didn't know anybody else going through the same thing so I feared I was just weird."
