Channel 4 is always willing to adserve any new creative style; please contact the traffic team regarding the trafficking process. However, we ask that the following guidelines be observed to avoid any possible animosity from the audience.
Compulsory Requirements for all Rich Media Creative:
- From the start of the creative running, a clear, large "Skip Advert" or "Close" link must be presented to the user along with an "X". It must be visible over any underlying page design. i.e. the close function must be located in the top right hand side on a coloured box, so if the text is white it will still be visible against a white background page.
- The creative must not leave any residual buttons or elements on the page after the creative is complete and has been closed.
- The creatives' hit area must be limited to its actual visible shape. i.e. any transparent elements of the creative that show the underlying page's content must not be activated as the hit area for the ad.
- Floating DHTML and Overlay style ads should not exceed 500x350 in size.
- Only limited volume sound should be used and should always be user initiated.
- The above example shows the relationship between the close function and the hit area on Floating DHTML.
