History
Channel 4's first mobile interactive advertising campaign launched in August 2005 with Suzuki Swift. This innovative service was introduced to provide interactive content to a whole new audience – anybody with a mobile phone.
What is Mobile Interactive Advertising?
This service allows mobile phone users to receive interactive content to their phones. This can include viewing film trailers, downloading screen savers or ringtones, looking up the nearest cinema playing a specific film, entering a competition, requesting information packs, etc.

How does it Work?
There are many ads which invite you to text a 'key word' to a short code, (for example, "Text 'INFO' to 80889"). In turn you will receive a text message which drives you to a WAP portal containing different menu options and graphics. You can then select from these menu options to enjoy interactive content related to the product advertised. For example, if you decide to text in for an ad showing a newly released film, you could have the option to watch trailers, enter competitions to win premier tickets, see which local cinemas and times the film is playing at, download the film’s ring tone or screensaver.

These text invites can be displayed on almost all media, including television, busses, cinemas, outdoor posters or even mentioned on radio ads. This means that mobile interactive ads maybe available to you as you walk down the street; as long as you have your mobile with you.
The interactive content sent to your mobile phone can be accessed again and again; whether you want to show your friends and family at a later date, or look up another local cinema while staying in a different area.
The possibilities are vast, so look out for text numbers on the Channel 4 network and other forms of advertising, and see what you can receive.
