More4, Channel 4's new TV channel, is launching on Monday 10 October.
More4 will show the best of world documentaries, smart films, highest-quality news and current affairs and big pieces of home-grown contemporary drama.
More4 News, broadcast Monday to Friday 8pm, will carry the most important news stories of the day, updated from Channel 4 News, and offer opinion and analysis in a range of specialist areas.
The Last Word is a brand new topical talk show for More4. Airing Monday to Thursday at 11pm, the show is hosted by a rotating line up of presenters who will be joined by the brightest and best journalists, cultural commentators and comedians.
There'll also be exclusive spin-offs from favourite Channel 4 programmes, premieres of brand new shows, the new series of Curb Your Enthusiasm and, at last, The West Wing has a permanent new primetime home.
Available free-to-air on Freeview, Sky Digital and digital cable, More4 will join E4 and FilmFour as one of the highest profile channels in millions of digital TV homes.
The website will provide online TV listings, further programme information plus video highlights. The site will offer a forum to share opinions with like-minded people, and debate issues you feel strongly about, including your own views about More4 programmes.
If you have Freeview, you may need to rescan your box to receive More4
Check your box has updated automatically: when you are watching TV, press 13 on your remote control. If More4 appears at channel 13 then you don't need to do anything. If channel 13 is still S4C2 then you need to rescan your box manually.
Your box may give you the option to rescan, in which case do so. This way, you will pick up ALL the channels available to you.
Your box may do nothing, in which case you definitely need to rescan it manually.
How long will this take?
Different box models take between three and 30 minutes to rescan. You may be unable to watch TV during this time.
What will change?
Your digital TV set or box will scan for all digital channels that it can receive via your aerial in your area. It will store some of the channels with new numbers.
If your box has not been rescanned for a while, you may receive some channels for the first time now that your box has registered them and stored them.
If for any reason you lose channels through the rescan process this could be due to poor weather or how strong or weak the digital signal is that day. You'll need to rescan another time.
Your box will not retain any personal settings you have made. For example 'favourites' and parental lock. You will need to reset these.
