Car Sharing

A traffic jam
Road transport accounts for 22% of total UK emissions of carbon dioxide. According to the Office for National Statistics, car journeys can be reduced by 12-15% if lone drivers share only once a week. So if you must use a car to commute, try sharing it with some colleagues. Everyone can chip in for the fuel and reduce your individual overall expenditure and carbon footprint.

Top Tips
  • Do establish an e-mail group of like-minded others to organise the rota.
  • Do all meet at an established location to save fuel driving door to door.
  • Do stick strictly to the car sharing rota and don't deviate on trips to the shops - it's a slippery slope to sure failure!
