Campaigning
Kris targeted the local schools and major employers for campaign backing. With the school run congestors not keen to leave their cars at home, Kris resorted to pester power. The schoolchildren set about lobbying their own parents to walk or cycle them to school for one day a week. They also completed a school project, making posters for the campaign and so attracting the attention of the local press and more free publicity.

Kris met local employers to discuss how they might tempt their employees with incentives to make a healthier commute to the office. At the market town of Boston, Kris approached the stallholders who encouraged walking or cycling clientele with free or reduced goods.
