Turn off: get in the habit of turning off all lights in the house as you go from room to room.Don't stand-by: save money and energy by turning off tv's, hifi's and computers instead of leaving them on standby.Low energy lights: low energy light bulbs come in all shapes and sizes these days and cater for all fittings.Motion sensing: use motion sensors on all outside lights so that you don’t accidentally leave them on.
Go green on power: in many areas, you can switch to energy generated by clean, renewable sources such as wind and solar. Save power in the shower: you use far less water when you have a shower.  Choose the shower more often, and save those long, hot soaks for a special treat.Dry ‘Au Naturel’: whenever possible dry your clothes on a drying rack or a clothes line, inside or out.Eat less meat: okay, so you don’t have to give it up.  But, next time you buy a sandwich, do you really have to have chicken?
Watch your fish: if you like fish, then check out which ones are good for you and the environment.Eat seasonal: not always possible, but bear it in mind when you go to the supermarket.Steer clear of packaging: avoid as many products as you can that come with packaging.Ecodecorate: next time you redecorate use eco paints.
Buy recycled: there are some great recycled products on the market now. Find out about climate change: there’s no incentive to being green unless you understand why you need bother in the first place.Get out and about: take a trip to the countryside. Go for a walk in the park.Join up: check out organisations that will inspire you to learn more and perhaps even do more.
Off-set some carbon: next time you fly, off-set your carbon with a carbon company.Grow your own: only possible if you have a garden.  If you do, why not plant a fruit tree instead of a fancy maple, it will give you a lot more for your money!
