About Sylvia
Watch Video: Interview with Sylvia >
Name: Sylvia Viosna
Age: 27
From: West London
Profession: Sales and marketing manager for an eco resort in Belize
Quote: On global warming – it's all political bollocks and all I can do is hope that my children will get to experience glaciers like I have had the privilege of seeing
Sylvia works for a new posh eco resort called Belize Grove in Belize. She is very excited about the fact that they are using ethically sourced wood to build it and are building composting toilets, although the implications of tourists flying thousands of miles to Belize seems less positive.
'I think recycling should be stricter. In places like Germany and France, it is taken much more seriously. I think people in the UK are too lazy. Change generally happens slowly, and the best way for transformation to start, is in the home.'
Sylvia says her greatest achievement to date was travelling the world, she has been to numerous countries and is a regular jet setter, she has also won a number of medals in the British Snowboard Championships.
She wants to take part in Dumped to further her achievements.
'I think it will be an adventure. This opportunity sounds like it will certainly be a memorable experience and that is exactly what I am after. I want to be able to tell my kids and grandkids all sorts of fun stories of what I got up to and keep it interesting. I don't want to be a boring tedious old person with reminisces of irrelevance.'
Sylvia is very practical, she renovated her new flat all by herself. She likes a challenge and is eager to learn. She is planning to spend some time this year in France to learn French.
