Dumped from Channel 4
Ian - Looking back on Dumped
After listening to Rob it's made me a bit more aware.

Maybe I want to get a bit more involved after I leave here, not only in my own personal contribution towards the environment but take it to a different level.

Ian was brought up with recycling and composting at home in Ireland, but since being involved with Dumped, he has become really passionate about the issues.

'My opinion on global warming is, we need to take the measures now to ensure there is a planet here to live on, not just in 100 years time but in 1000 years time. I also think that the KYOTO Protocol consisting of 160 countries should increase the restrictions imposed to countries that go over their limit.'

Since leaving the dump Ian has been working in Liverpool replacing decking for ships, tankers and oil rigs to make them safer and stronger for a much longer length of time. He turned down an engineering job on a millionaire's cruise liner in the Bahamas in order to do this.

He plans to continue working for other people until he has enough cash to set up his own environmentally friendly engineering company.

He has also been on a personal crusade with his friends:

'I've been boring my mates with talk of packaging and recycling and I get really cross with them when they don't listen to me, I've also switch my energy supplier to one with a green tariff'.
