Dumped from Channel 4

Christine's Quotes

Exactly what was it that Christine said again?

Check out all of Christine's quotes direct from the Dump:

I'm constantly trying to find ways to actualise my potential.
Christine on herself

Maybe to the desert.
Christine on where the eco-challenge might be

You know what it is. You have to change the way you view it... take it one day at a time.
Christine on arriving at the Dump

Hey I don't like it. It's all nice and fine when you don't have to look at it. You can just pack it away. But it's right in your face. This is a reflection of what we're doing. I'm just taking it in... and thinking how am I going to make the most of this?
Christine on the enormity of the rubbish dump

Okay. If we can actually get it up there, figure out the positioning of it, I would like to wire it up somehow and make it like a... so a glass, crystally. I want to use a lot of light and reflection.... pyramidy tower thing like beacon... that would be a strong statement in terms of using the landscape and the things that we have got.
Christine on the inspiration for her art installation

There's part of my life that none of you know anything about - a journey I have been on for many years. It is related to my name which has much symbology to do with my name. The snake is related to earth powers, catonic powers, underground powers and the snake, when it is slivering around on its belly - cos it is highly attuned to vibration - it feels what is going on in the earth. And it was highly interesting to me to actually find this snake, it was a sign to me. The cycle of the moon is very much in keeping with women’s cycle. And the snake in terms of shedding its skin is very similar to the shedding of the womb.
Christine after finding the snake

One thing I didn’t want to do was deal with my own excrement.
Christine on the prospect of using a compost loo

We're going to do this because I've been really upset thinking we're not going to get this done. Maybe we won't get loads of tasks, but I'm concerned we won't get it done. And for me if we don't get this done, I'll be glad of all the benefits of doing this thing in terms of the greater consciousness but me personally? If I do not get this done I won't walk away happy. I won't. I won't walk away happy.
Christine on the need to complete her art made from rubbish

We can recycle all of this. And we can take the clay and the stones and the rubble and we can build structures, the whole thing can be cleared. Everything that we are doing here is about recycling and seeing usefulness in things that we usually wouldn't see so for me I find it quite surprising that people would have to introspect and think about why they're here.
Christine on recycling

When money gets involved it gets weird and it’s happening.
Christine on collecting scrap for money

The thing is we’re all used to having different schedules to doing things differently.
Christine on her work ethic

Sometimes it feels like a boot camp.
Christine on the atmosphere in the camp

The first bag I’ve opened up has got nappies in it. I’m having a hard time with it I really am, you know, I really am having a hard time with it.
Christine on having to sort out fresh rubbish for recycling

I know it sounds ridiculous but I feel like it is going to change my being somehow. I’m really having a strong reaction to this.
Christine finds having to sort out fresh rubbish for recycling a life-changing experience

Check these out, these are earrings from the dump.
