Name: Christine Flynn
Age: 47
From: Glasgow
Profession: Self-Employed Multimedia Designer
Quote: I'm constantly trying to find ways to actualize my potential
Christine was born in Scotland but grew up in Canada, which explains her unusual accent. She feels she had a lifetime of great experiences, including living in the mountains, skydiving, stage acting, scuba diving; and she has hitch-hiked from one side of America to another.
Christine is a very spiritual person who tries to put a positive spin on every aspect of life. She meditates daily, no matter what environment she finds herself in.
She believes Dumped is a unique opportunity for her and is keen to raise environmental awareness.
'To me this is a rare opportunity to participate in a unique experience that has important social relevance. I hope to make a positive contribution, to participate in something I can be proud of, to learn more about myself and hopefully, even in some small way, increase others' breadth of knowing'
In 1996, Christine was diagnosed with leukemia, and given two months to live. She believes that she brought the disease on herself with negative thoughts. She also claims that she cured herself by being positive.
'When I had leukaemia and a prognosis of two months to live, to me, that was an extra special stress situation and I was very aware that I needed to eliminate the stress to allow my body to heal. As such the focus for me was on remaining calm and trusting myself to get myself out of the situation. I also knew that I was going through some kind of rite of passage and that I was going through the process whether I liked it or not, and so to work with it.'
